Ubisoft Bonus Games Fall 2024
Starting November 13th Blacknut players can enjoy:
Child of Light
- a visually enchanting RPG that combines platforming elements with turn-based combat. Players control Aurora, a young girl who navigates the magical world of Lemuria. The gameplay is a blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and strategic battles. Aurora can fly, which allows her to traverse beautifully illustrated landscapes, solve environmental puzzles, and discover hidden treasures. Combat is handled through a dynamic turn-based system, where timing and character positioning are key. Players must manage a timeline that determines attack order, using light-based abilities and party tactics to interrupt enemies or defend against attacks. The game also features a companion system, where players control a firefly named Igniculus to assist in both battles and puzzles.
Watchdogs
-centered around an open-world action-adventure experience, where players assume the role of a skilled hacker in a hyper-connected urban environment. Using a smartphone as their primary tool, players can manipulate the city’s infrastructure, such as traffic lights, security cameras, and power grids, to complete missions or evade enemies. The game offers a mix of stealth and combat, allowing players to approach situations with creativity—whether by hacking devices to distract foes or engaging in high-octane gunfights. Driving, exploration, and side activities like solving puzzles or uncovering secrets further enrich the experience. The gameplay emphasizes the theme of control and surveillance, immersing players in a world where technology can be a weapon.
Rayman Origins
- a vibrant 2D platformer that brings back the classic fast-paced gameplay of the Rayman series with a modern twist. Players control Rayman and his friends as they run, jump, and glide through beautifully hand-drawn levels filled with quirky enemies and imaginative environments. The game focuses on precision platforming, where timing and skill are key to navigating tricky obstacles, collecting Lums, and freeing Electoons. It supports up to four-player local co-op, allowing players to work together or compete for high scores. Each character has unique abilities, such as wall-running and swimming, that are unlocked progressively, adding new layers to the gameplay. With its smooth controls, dynamic levels, and a playful sense of humor, Rayman Origins offers a fun and challenging experience that appeals to both newcomers and fans of classic platformers.
Trials of the Blood Dragon
- Gamplay combines the physics-based motorcycle platforming of the Trials series with the neon-soaked, 80s-inspired action of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Players take control of the children of Rex "Power" Colt, racing through outlandish levels that span war zones, jungles, space stations, and even virtual reality. The core gameplay revolves around controlling the motorcycle’s balance and speed to navigate complex, obstacle-filled courses, requiring precision and timing to avoid crashes. However, the game introduces new twists with on-foot sections, where players engage in side-scrolling combat, shoot enemies, and solve platforming puzzles. These hybrid segments, along with jetpacks, grappling hooks, and even tank and RC car missions, make for varied gameplay. The game’s irreverent tone, neon visuals, and retro-futuristic soundtrack give Trials of the Blood Dragon a unique flair, blending arcade racing with over-the-top action.
Oddballers
- delivers a fast-paced, chaotic multiplayer party game where players compete in a variety of wacky, physics-based dodgeball-inspired challenges. The gameplay emphasizes fun and unpredictability as players use unconventional items—like fish, plungers, and explosives—as projectiles to outwit their opponents. Set in colorful, interactive environments, the game features diverse mini-games ranging from classic elimination-style dodgeball matches to quirky objectives like herding animals or smashing piñatas. With local and online multiplayer support, up to six players can team up or face off, making OddBallers a hilariously competitive experience for friends and family. Its accessible controls and humor-filled design ensure that players of all skill levels can join the fun.
